Welcome to the Alexander McNair Chapter, NSDAR, Monett, Missouri. We represent one of fifteen chapters in the Southwest District, Missouri State Society Daughters of the American Revolution.

Chapter History

The Alexander McNair Chapter was organized December 4, 1985, and supports the objectives of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution of promoting historic preservation, education, and patriotism.  Since the first meeting, the aim of the chapter has been to remember our ancestors who sacrificed their way of life to make us a free nation.  The chapter gives Community Service Awards and participates in a local Flag Day celebration.   The chapter was named for Alexander McNair, the first Governor of the State of Missouri (1820-1824)

Since its inception, the chapter has grown to over 40 members, and support the objectives of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution of historic preservation, education, and patriotism through various activities, monetary contributions, donations, and projects.

Visit the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) web site information on membership eligibility.

The DAR Genealogical Research System is a free patriot lookup program available through the National Society to assist you in determining if your ancestor is currently a recognized Revolutionary War patriot.

For more information on membership eligibility, or to learn more about what we do, we invite you to visit our chapter. Meetings are held the second Saturday of the month at 1:30 p.m. September-June. Guests are welcome. For specific meeting dates and location, please contact us.
