Chapters Shine Across Missouri!

St. Joseph Chapter Pony School

The St. Joseph Chapter worked with the St. Joseph Pony Express Museum in securing a DAR Special Project Grant for the Pony School--a replica of an 1860 one-room schoolhouse.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by National Corresponding Secretary Sally Napier Bueno; Past Vice President General Mary Lynn Tolle; State Corresponding Secretary Susan Bowman; State Librarian Marilyn McMillen; Northwest District Director Louise Campbell; St. Joseph Chapter Regent Joan Magee, and chapter members.

The St. Joseph Metro Chamber Diplomats and Museum Board President Dick DeShon hosted the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Eagle Scout Reid Schmidling, along with his brothers, Ben and David, from Scout Troup 216, presented the Colors and opening flag ceremony. School children from 19 schools collected pennies to help with the fund raising for the school.
