A Letter to the Chapter

Dear Members of the Hannah Cole Chapter of the DAR:

  I just wanted to send a thank you for your Web site and the information  you have on Hannah Cole, and for all the work you've done in her name. I  only recently discovered that Hannah is my great-great-great-great-great-great grandmother (if I counted correctly). Hannah and Temple's son Holbert had a son named William Temple, who had a daughter named Madora, who had a daughter named Fannie (Lowery), who had a son named Morgan (Morris), who had a son named Homer  (Morris), who had a daughter, me).

  My uncle, who lives in St. Louis, had sent me pictures of the statue
unveiling that he found on-line. I then checked my family tree and I had  the Coles listed, but I had no idea of their great pioneer story. I have  read the information provided by your chapter and picked up the book on  Hannah (A Heart for Any Fate), and have very much enjoyed learning about my roots.

  The Morris family settled in Texas and Oklahoma, and my parents moved
the family from Oklahoma to Texas, where I was born, and then to New
Mexico. I'm a newspaper reporter and columnist in the San Francisco Bay
Area, and have been in California for almost 19 years.

  So from a great-great-great-great-great-great granddaughter, I'd like to thank you for continuing to honor Hannah's spirit, and for all of your  work in ensuring her story lives on. I hope some day to visit and "meet"  Hannah through her statue.
