Annual Historic Flag Raising
and 4th of July Parade 2006

The 38th annual Chesterfield Historic Flag Raising and 4th of July Parade, in the White Plains subdivision, was a smashing success. Mary Hempstead Lisa Chapter co-sponsored the event. It started off with a parade led by the Fusiliers followed by decorated bikes, animals, and people. Mr. Bill Wunderlich led the ceremonies by first lowering the British flag. The Burlington version of the American flag was then raised to three cheers from the Fusiliers. Then the Fusiliers fired off a volley from their muskets.

The DAR selected winners of coveted prizes. The first category was Under Age of 6. Prizes were for Most Colorful, Most Patriotic, and Most Original. The second category was Seven and Older. Prizes were for Most Colorful, Most Patriotic, and Most Original. The third category was Animals -Most Patriotic and Most Exotic.
