Welcome to the Matilda Polk Campbell Chapter.  We are located in Bolivar, Missouri.

We are very active in our community, creating patriotic displays at the public library, having a booth at the 4th of July Celebration of Freedom, having a float in the Christmas Parade, and receiving the Constitution Week proclamation at the city council meeting.  This year we placed a marker in Playter Park to honor John Playter, a MSSDAR Medal of Honor recipient.
In October 2007, the Matilda Polk Campbell chapter celebrated our 10th anniversary.  We were honored to have 2006-2008 State Regent Mary Lynn Tolle speak to us on this occasion.

Veterans Roll Call
Jennie & Reta  Yearly our chapter honors our veterans and active service military personnel.  The community submits names of family and friends who have served our county.   Last year we had over 4,000 names to read aloud so they are not forgotten.

We have veterans, active duty military, and family members  come to listen to the names being read.  Some visitors join in reading the names.

The Ancient Art of Tatting
A charter member of the chapter, Eugenia is an accomplished thread artist with her tatting.  She demonstrated the process and displayed many, many pieces of her handiwork.  Eugenia tats...

Tamassee DAR School
Tamassee Cottage The Tamassee DAR School is dear to our hearts.  Anne Keller spoke with us about the needs at the school.  A special collection was taken for Tamassee.  We also donated kitchen items to the cottage for their renovation.

Donation of Flag to Local Business
A local business allowed our chapter to hold our meetings in their conference room.  As a thank you for this kindness, we donated a flag to the company.  The CEO accepted the donation and commented on the good works of the DAR.

Since the donation, many company photos are now including the flag which promotes America not only nationally but internationally.

Picnic at Roslyn Heights
Our summer excursion to Roslyn Heights for the picnic was such a delight.  Jill is our driver and travel guide.  She knows the back roads because many of her 'kin lived in the "hills and hollars" between here and there.  Picnic at Roslyn Heights
