Activities

The O’Fallon Chapter, NSDAR has an energetic membership and is involved in many DAR and related community activities. We have been honored by the Missouri State Society Daughters of the American Revolution (MSSDAR) for our exceptional work and support of National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) goals and projects, some of which are listed below.

USO Santa

Support of Military and Veterans

DAR supports active duty men and women and veterans of the United States Military through numerous programs. Wounded military personnel at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany are supported through Project Patriot. DAR members provide assistance to veterans in VA hospitals and non-VA facilities.

The Flag of the United States of America.

American Flags and the DAR booklet “Flag Code of the United States of America” are donated to schools and organizations to promote the proper display of the American Flag.

Constitution Week

A display of Constitution Week proclamations obtained from various Saint Louis County municipalities.

Constitution Week

DAR sponsors public service announcements and school programs during the week of September 17 - 23 to promote awareness about the Constitution.

DAR Schools

DAR supports schools that encompass a variety of special needs programs. Thousands of pre-school through college students are given a place to fulfill their potential.

 

 


Scholarships

DAR awards a variety of scholarships to high school and college students.

American Indians

DAR provides support to a number of Native American schools and awards scholarships to Native American youth.

Oasis

Education never ends. O’Fallon members serve as reading tutors through Oasis and other literacy programs

Literacy

Members volunteer their service to promote literacy among adults and children.

Youth Programs

American history education is promoted through children’s essay contests, summer camps, and museum programs.

Awards

DAR presents awards for Conservation, Community Service, and in many other categories.

Historic Preservation

DAR members preserve local landmarks and historic structures and recognize accomplishments with awards. They also locate, restore, and mark patriot grave sites. DAR owns and maintains the historic Cold Water Cemetery in Florissant, Missouri.

Genealogy

DAR members provide help with genealogy research and conduct public workshops.
