Welcome to Platte Purchase DAR Chapter
The Flag of the USA flown over Iraq
Platte
City Mayor Dave Brooks, left, accepts an American Flag from Regina
Davenport at the Platte Purchase Chapter DAR meeting on June 19, 2004.
This flag was flown by Mrs. Davenport’s daughter, Captain Tamra
J. Scheiblhofer, over the city of Baghdad, Iraq, on April 22, 2003, in support
of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Capt. Scheiblhofer, a C-130 Hercules pilot with the 180th Airlift Squadron,
Missouri Air National Guard, is a junior member of Platte Purchase Chapter.
The chapter's donation was in honor of Capt. Tamra J. Scheiblhofer’s
patriotic service to our country. It is on display in the Platte City, Missouri,
City Hall building.
Platte Purchase Chapter Marks Grave
The Platte Purchase Chapter purchased and placed a DAR Insignia Grave Marker for Eusebius Hubbard at Cold Water Cemetery in Florissant, Missouri. Past Chapter Regent Beverly Griffith and her husband, Bob, are shown at the gravesite. Hubbard provided patriotic service during the Revolutionary War in Henry County, Virginia. Hubbard is the great-great-great-great grandfather of Bob Griffith.
