Welcome to Missouri!

We are proud to say that President Harry S Truman grew up in Lamar, a small town in western Missouri. He later lived in Independence where the Presidential Library is located.

Amtrak still runs here, and the politicians continue to make whistle-stop campaigns.

Our state has a bit of everything: plains, mountains, lakes, rivers, farms, large cities, and even rice paddies.

When it comes to sports and outdoor activities, we have the Chiefs, the Rams, the Royals, the Cardinals, and the Blues. We have the fantastic Katy Trail, a 200+ mile biking/hiking trail that generally travels along the Missouri River. Parts of it are handicapped accessible, and it's not uncommon to see entire families out for a Sunday stroll along the base of the bluffs.

We are definitely a four-season state. In a few short months our weather can go from 25 below zero to 103, and from drought to floods. The saying here is "If you don't like the weather, wait a few days."
