"Our Flag" During the November 2003 meeting the William White Chapter presented a new flag to Sharp's Grove Church.
Appearing in the picture from left to right are Susan Rippen, Regent; Mary Ann Showalter, Sharp's Grove Church; Iona White, past Regent; and Robert Smith, Col. USAF Retired.
Robert Smith, Col. USAF Retired Mound City Legion Post #121, shown "Retiring with Dignity" the old flag. Flags are neatly rolled, and tied with red, white, and blue ribbons, then buried in a sealed container at the foot of the flag pool. While the flag was retired, bugler Ward Rounds Round played taps and the Star-Spangled Banner. |
